Week 46 – Tuesday – England

Daily Mirror:

“Job for the boys”
“Southgate: I’ll carry on taking risks and won’t worry what the FA think”
John Cross writes:
“Gareth Southgate has promised to carry on putting his faith in young players – even if it costs him his job as England boss.”

And up top we have of course:
“Italian sob”
“Azzurri miss Wolrd Cup for the first time since 1958”

The Daily Telegraph:

The Telegraph keeps going with some similar headlines:
“Heartbreak for Italians”
“Azzurri fail to qualify for the World Cup finals for the first time in 60 years”

The Sun:

“Spaghetti oops”
“Swedes send Italy crashing”
The 1-0 aggregate defeat will spell the end of the goalkeeper Bfffons fantastic 175-cap career.

Then we have the main headline:
“3 lions whip”
“Gareth orders stars to be risk-takers like him”
As previously mentioned, Southgate will play with a young team against Brazil tonight and he says that the players need to be fearless like himself.

The Guardian:

Lastly, we have The Guardian who refers to the Italian Apocalypse:
“End of the world”
“Heartbreak for Italy as stubborn Swedes hold out”

And a bit further down we have a huge text about the Southgate numbers game which we have already talked a bit about, but I will leave a link right HERE.
